We Design

The roofline pitch, the material of the facade, and the way you interact with it are giving us design cues the moment we step foot on your property. The result isn’t decorated. Our crew arrives prepared, not just equipped. Every attachment point is chosen deliberately, clean lines, exceptional cord control, no damage to your home. We move efficiently and leave the property cleaner than we found it. Some work speaks quietly, this doesn’t.

When should I book my holiday lighting installation in Asheville?
We start planning in February and our calendar books months in advance of the season. Most clients secure their spot by spring — October and November installations fill first. If you’re thinking about holiday lighting this year, the best time to reach out is now. We’d rather tell you we have availability than turn you away.
How much does professional holiday lighting cost in Asheville, NC?
Residential installations start around $1,500 for smaller homes and range up to $26,000 for large or complex properties. Most first-year clients invest between $3,000 and $5,000. Returning clients typically pay less because your custom perimeter lighting materials are yours — we store and reinstall them each season. Rental items like wreaths, garland, and mini lights are priced separately. Every quote is custom to your property.
Do I need to provide my own Christmas lights?
o. We supply everything — commercial-grade LED lights custom cut to fit your home’s exact dimensions. Our materials are significantly brighter, more energy efficient, and longer lasting than anything available at retail. You won’t find our product at a big box store. We do not work with pre owned or client purchased materials.
What does the service include?
Everything. Custom design, professional installation, a service call if anything needs attention mid-season, scheduled takedown, cleaning, and storage of your materials for the following year. You don’t lift a finger from the first consultation to the final coil in storage.
Do I need to be home for the installation?
No. We just need gate or door codes and any access instructions beforehand. If you have pets that may be reactive around strangers, we ask that they be secured during the install. Otherwise we take care of everything and leave your property clean and lit.
When will my lights be installed and taken down?
We install after October 1st, with greenery installed after November 1st. Takedown is scheduled between January 1st and February 15th. We’ll notify you by phone, text, or email with your specific date or date range. We build our schedule by neighborhood and cannot guarantee specific date requests. We appreciate your flexibility and always communicate changes promptly.
What if a light goes out or something needs repair after installation?
Call us. Service for bulb replacements or any issue caused by our installation is included in your install and takedown fee. Damage caused by severe weather, animals, or property work by others is billed at our standard hourly service rate. Either way, we come back and we fix it!
Do you install holiday lighting on commercial properties in Asheville?
Yes. We work with restaurants, retail businesses, office buildings, HOAs, and community spaces throughout Western North Carolina. Commercial holiday lighting is quoted separately based on scope. Contact us to start the conversation.
How does payment work?
All New clients pay a 50% deposit to secure placement with the balance due the day of installation. Returning clients placement is secured with a 25% deposit in February with the balance due Oct 1. Any upgrades or changes can be discussed between February and September and added to your final invoice. We accept all major credit cards, ACH, checks, and cash. A 3% service charge applies to credit card transactions.

We serve Asheville and the surrounding Western North Carolina communities including Weaverville, Black Mountain, Hendersonville, Biltmore Park, Arden, Fletcher, Woodfin, Waynesville, and Brevard. If you’re in the greater Asheville metro area, reach out — we likely cover your neighborhood.
Are you insured?
Yes, Winter Star Holiday Lights is fully insured. Our crew works on ladders and rooflines during the holidays and is skilled in safety equipment use. You should never let an uninsured company or person do this type of work on your property.
